I really loved this dish! It was really, really good. You can cut down on prep time by using imitation crab, and shrimp that are deveined and have the shell removed. I also spread italian bread crumbs over the top for a little kick. It does take some prep time but it is well worth it. It is a bit pricey, but makes a big pan. Definitely worth making again and again.
This was awesome! I added sage to the sausage, and tore the toasted bread apart instead of cubing it. My fiancee who doesn't like eggs had 3 helpings, and my 15 month old ate it as well. Thanks for this yummy, yummy casserole recipe!!!
I marinated chicken with this and it turned out exceptionally well. My fiancee loved it! If you don't like lemon-Beware. You can really taste the lemon juice in it!
I made this roast last night and it was delicious!! I agree with past reviewers that mashed potatoes is indeed the perfect compliment to this roast. The only change I would make is to possibly marimate the roast overnight to add more flavor to the meat. There was no special flavor to the beef itself...possibly some beef rub would spice it up a bit. Overall, excellent. Delicious gravy and fork tender. I will definitely be making this again!
This is really good, and I thought it was quite similar to Cracker Barrel's Casserole. I added some chopped green peppers to mine as well as a pond of lean ground beef to make it a main meal. Next time I would saute the onions in the butter, and then add it to the rest of the ingredients (they were a little crunchy). Also, 30 minutes was not enough time for this to cook if you use frozen hash browns. 45 minutes works better, everything is done by then. Overall, delicious. My 2 year old and husband ate it all, no leftovers, but it does make a lot.
This pasta was amazing! Everyone loved it, including my 2 year old. I omitted the black olives, and used a can of diced tomatoes instead of fresh, and it was still great. I also added some onion salt to season. Overall, fast and yummy. I will make again and again.
This was very easy to make- mix up the marinade, and leave the chicken in the fridge while at work. Despite other reviews, I did not find this too salty. Yes-it does seem like a lot of salt when you see it in the marinade, but after the chicken is cooked, you'll be glad you put it in! Excellent, moist chicken with lots of flavor. I used bone in chicken breast, and baked in the oven. My husband and 2 year old ate this with no complaints!
This is an excellent recipe. It is very inexpensive. I can make a large pan of it for $3.00. I add a few shakes of Italian Seasoning, use 1 lb of ground beef or pork, some shredded cheese, and also add one can of diced tomatoes. It is delicious!! My 2 year old cleans his plate every time! I will definitely make again!
This was an excellent dish. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I used regular cream of mushroom, not golden. I did not think that the wine taste was overwelming at all! I used Ste. Genevieve white. My 2 year old ate both the pasta and the chicken, and my husband who hates spagetti noodles even commented on how good it was! I'll make again soon!
This is an excellent dish. I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious! The crust mixture was good, and baked up light and quite fluffy. This is not a flaky type crust, so if you are looking for that, bisquick may be what you want instead! My two year old and husband ate this up. Will definitely make again!
This recipe is excellent!I have made it twice. The first time I followed the recipe exactly, and ended up with soggy bread. The second time, I made some modifications, and the bread was very crisp, making the whole dish spectacular! I used a 2 quart oval casserole dish (Pyrex), instead of the 9 by 13 inch pan. For the bread, I used a loaf of crusty french bread, and merely ripped off pieces from it until the bottom of the pan was covered. The bread should be packed quite tightly on the bottom. Next, I mixed the mayo and cream cheese with the spices, and spread it over top the bread. Because the bread was packed so tightly in the bottom, it was quite easy to spread evenly. This layer can be a bit thick, because it will protect the bread from becoming soggy with the sauce. After this, just follow the recipe exactly, and you should come out with a meatball casserole that has a crispy bread bottom!
This is a great recipe if you are looking for something, quick, cheap and kid friendly. It costs approximately $4.00 to make( including macaroni or rice to serve it on),makes a ton, and tastes wonderful. My 3 year old gobbles this up each time I make it. You can add vegetables, sour cream or different spices to add more kick if desired. This is a weekly staple at my house. Gourmet food this is not, but just simple, great everyday fare. Definitely worth trying.
