This was fantastic. I used a tablespoon of beef Better Than Bullion and 2 cups of water in place of the can of beef broth. I also doubled the carrots and made mashed potatoes on the side. I sprinkled garlic powder and onion powder salt and pepper with a sprinkle of Tony Chachere’s. It was extremely tender and the carrots were fantastic! I have made it several times I always use different spices ... whatever I have on hand, and it has turned out great every time.
I love this recipe. I prefer kale to spinach however because it holds its shape better. I also use better than bullion chicken instead of chicken broth because it adds more flavor. My family are picky when it comes to spice, so I have to leave out the red pepper flakes. Thanks for posting!
Best mashed potatoes ever!
The first dish gone at Thanksgiving.
Everyone raved at Thanksgiving. I had people calling and asking for the recipe. I followed some of the other reviewers suggestions. I used Cabot Seriously Sharp Cheddar. I purchased a 16 OZ block. I purchases frozen steamable green beans, 2 lbs worth. I steamed a minute less than the instructions to get them mostly done, but not all the way. I sautéed the onions in the butter until translucent prior to adding the flour, salt, sugar and sour cream and adding the green beans. 1 added 1/2 cup of shredded cheese to the green bean mixture. I added the most of the remaining cheese to the top (I don't think I used all of it. I eyeballed it.) Lastly, on top of the cheese, I used a combination of both crumbled Ritz crackers mixed with butter and French's French Fried Onions. Baked according to directions. HUGE HIT!!!! New Thanksgiving staple. Thank you for the great recipe.
Delicious. I only had boneless skinless chicken tenders and kale instead of spinach. Cooked 3 min under pressure. Natural release for 5. Then put kale in with chicken and sauce once finished pressure cooking with sauté function until the kale turned bright green. No leftovers! Chicken was cooked perfect!
Very forgiving recipe. Used what I had on hand. 1 packet of brown gravy mix, 1 can of cream of chicken/mushroom. Half a soup can of whole milk. Halved the cream cheese and used a generous dollop of sour cream. Sautéed 1/2 an onion and 1 tsp minced garlic once the meat was mostly cooked. The tiny onion bits still had a little crunch. Added super delicious texture and taste. Didn’t have any mushrooms on hand and only 12 oz bag of noodles. Turned out great. Picky teenager even loved it.
