Molokailiving

I have a beautiful & loving wife and three wonderful children. I literally grew up in the restaurant industry all my growing years. I used to own and run a restaurant for a short time, but decided we were spending too much time with the business and wanted to focus on our kids. There is a part of me that desires to go back into the food industry but may after the kids are all in college. Otherwise my days off of work is spent experimenting with foods/recipes.
Triple-Dipped Fried Chicken

Wow...ono! I added a few strips of bacon to the frying oil, brown, then remove before frying the chicken and it enhanced the flavor. I've made this a few times and have since adjusted some of the spices and even add cayenne powder for a nice kick. Never thought of trying this recipe on onion rings and will try it today for a potluck blessing. Aloha.

Buttermilk Pancakes

This is a keeper! I was raised in a pineapple plantation town in the 1960's and as a child my parents used to send me to the restaurant to pick up a box of cooked pancakes, and as a result, became the benchmark for which I judged all other pancakes. The lady who used to scratch make those pancakes had long since past but my search for a replacement/recipe went on for well over 40 years and I feel that this is the "one!" Cooked it for the first time the other day and me, my wife & kids just loved it...moist, fluffy, ono (delicous)...what else can I say? Try it, you'll like it!

Like many others here, I've experimented with many fried chicken recipes and none can compare to this easy to do recipe. Crazy crispy today and tomorrow...succulent & delicious...'nuff said.

Cooked this for my family this morning and they absolutely loved it...I had not seen this recipe here but had seen it used in a military cook-off MANY years ago...using Jimmy Deans sausage. I added some sliced mushrooms to the gravy, fried eggs atop of the biscuit before the gravy. Couldn't believe it...we ate the whole thing!
