This recipe grabbed me because I love all the items listed in the title. However, I am not a fan of canned chicken and processed cheese food. I swapped out the white instant rice for a wild rice blend and cooked that ahead of time. I also bought about a pound and a quarter of pre-cut chicken tenders and boiled them for about 30 minutes. Then I sweated the onion and added the cans of soup, milk and 3/4 lb of shredded cheddar cheese to the mix. Once the cheese was melted and the ingredients combined I mixed everything together in a large bowl then transferred to my baking dish. I sprinkled on the remaining cheese before putting in the oven. It's delicious but could use some garlic. I'll try that the next time I make it.
This was an incredible dessert. It's very rich but that only makes the goodness last longer as you only need a small piece to enjoy it. I used a pre-made shortbread crust because that's what I had on hand. So good! I will absolutely be making this again. What I love most about this recipe is that it only takes minutes to make...but it does have to chill before eating, and that's ok.
