I've been retired 2 years and married for 4 years to a real "Okie from Muskogee" and my cooking is still a work in progress. My Mom (89) lives with us and while I was still working she did all the cooking. Now that I'm retired, it's me in the kitchen instead of her. My husband loves food in general and fish in particular. In fact the only thing he doesn't like is nuts (except peanuts) and sauerkraut. I'm learning more about Mexican & Asian cooking. Being from St. Louis, of course, Italian and German is sort of part of me.
