We have wild raspberries & this is a simple and delicious way to use small quantities. I added 2 Tbsp milk to the batter.
Wow! For 4 or 5 years my husband has been talking about the incredible pistachio baklava he had at a Greek restraunt in Detroit. He just turned 30 & I wanted to surprise him with something special... it worked! It turned out wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe!
I took the cake out of the oven 10 minutes early & it was already overbaked. The batter was very thick (it didn't pour) & there didn't seem to be enough batter to make that many layers, so I just did batter, cranberry, batter. I wasn't impressed with the cake (though it's probably much better when it isn't overbaked!) but I thought the cranberry sauce made a great filling.
We have an abundance of wild blackberries. I wanted to find a use for them besides jam & pies. This is easy to put together & tastes great.
They were great! My 2 & 3 year old loved them. We had them once marinated & once without marinating. My husband & I are used to spicier things, so might add some spices next time.
Excellent! I've never made a chocolate cake recipe other than my grandmother's, because hers is tops. My sister told me she made this recipe & that it was great, so I tried it. It's more dense/ brownielike than my grandma's recipe, so now I can rely on 2 different chocolate cake recipes. I used buttercream frosting because that seemed like too much chocolate, but my sister says I must try it with the choc frost. Very very good!
Growing up, Mom made this cake every Valentines Day. We all looked forward to it & I have fond memories of it, though I haven't had it in years- her recipe is from an old Hershey cookbook. Now I can make it too.
My husband and 2 sons didn't care for it, believe it was because of the orange juice. I didn't think it was bad, but I like cake mix better.
Love it!! The first time I made it according to directions. Husband, kids & I all preferred the p.b. layer. So the 2nd time I made all of it p.b. with just a THIN layer of chocolate fudge on top. EXCELLENT! A keeper!
I was excited about this after reading the reviews. It smelled wonderful. It wasn't bad, but I'm going to keep looking for a better recipe.
I didn't use the lemon zest or topping (my husband wouldn't eat them if I did). They were good & I'll make them again, but I'm still looking for the ultimate muffin recipe. I assume they are better with the lemon & topping.
