This is one of the few sugar cookies my kids liked even without frosting - very yummy! Cut-outs didn't lose their shape, even though they did puff up a little more than other recipes. My only complaint is that the dough was stickier/ harder to work with than any others I've made.... maybe because I used extremely fresh butter from a local Amish farm. Either way, well worth a try. You'll love 'em.
For a lower calorie version, try replacing the brown sugar with the Splenda Brown Sugar for Baking. Also, try adding cinnamon or nutmeg. Tasting them you'd never know just how simple they actually were to make!
WOW, this was good! My family (little piggies) ate the entire batch in one sitting. Can't wait to make it this summer when the produce is fresh. Definitely a keeper, thanks Annie.
To say this is good is an understatement, we love it! I used honey glazed almond slivers in place of seasame seeds as I didn't have any seasame seeds on hand at the time - actually liked it even better with the almonds.
I used veggies fresh from my own garden & boy did this make a difference! Very, very good AND super easy. Little spicy for youngsters.
This rivals similar dishes I've had in both SoCal and Texas. The length of recipe intimidated me at 1st, however it turned out to be very simple. We really enjoyed this, thank you!
This was okay, but definitely not my favorite. Didn't like the flavor at all. I could have added this or subtracted that....but then why not just find a whole new recipe?
