AMAZING! I used a super juicy fresh pinapple, cored, quartered, and cut into 3/8" slices. Then used canned pineapple juice in the mix (I always keep those small cans of pineapple juice in my pantry for adding to glazes). I placed the pineapple slices in concentric circles (fitting in several cherries) and it was beautiful and super juicy with a great pineapple flavor. I highly recomend using fresh fruit in this recipe! I always make desserts to share and this was one of the best received ever. Everyone wanted more...even those who are usually non dessert eaters!******Tried it with canned pineapple, not nearly half as good!
Awesome! AWESOME! I used juice from the lime and orange as well as the lemon. For the topping I couldn"t find a marmalade made with seville oranges at the nearby store, so I was stuck using smuckers, which usually does really well with their products, but in the case of orange marmalade is really way too sweet, so I just added a whole lot of lemon juice and reduced it for quite a while...it tasted excellent! Loads if citrus flavor instead of corn syrup! My friend who loves cheesecake and orders it out regularly said it was the best he's ever had!*****Just made again (this time with higher quality marmalade:)), and the response was overwhelming!!! Another friend who loves cheesecake tried it and said "Oh my gosh, you are going to make me so fat! This is unlike anything I've ever tasted before.....yum!!!!" Last weekend I had made the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake for this friend, which he also really liked, but definately not any more than this one!
It is very rare for everyone in my family (from 9 to 73) to all like the same thing, which is what happened when I served this. HOWEVER, it seemed a bit loose and missing something (and I always totally remove the tops from my condensed milk cans and scrape them out with a spatula, so that was not the reason) so I added an extra package of cream cheese (this time a low fat one) and folded in some of the whipped cream. I thought I was only salvaging the pie in order to have something ready for dessert, but it turned out to be loved by every single person who tried it (and they usually have vastly different taste preferences!).
Fabulous. A wonderful addition is espresso powder! Add it to the chocolate while melting (I used about a teaspoon)...it adds a little depth of flavor that is amazing to an already great recipe! I also HIGHLY suggest using chocolate in bar form (such as Ghiradelli), because it melts much better than chips. Not only does bar chocolate have more cocoa butter, causing it to melt better, but chips have additives that are there to help them hold their shape by raising their melting temperature (why they are perfect for chocolate chip cookies), making them not the best tasting chocolate for melting either- partly because of the additives and partly because chocolate flavonoids are highly volatile and the less heat chocolate is subjected to the better it will taste.
These are the best banana muffins I have ever tried. They bake up nice and high and are very attractive. They work well with either butter or canola oil, but I prefer the taste of these muffins when made as directed, with the melted butter. This is my favorite brown sugar topping of any I have tried and I use it on other muffins as well. I haven't met a single person who did not like these and I have been baking them for years. Thanks so much!
Make sure to make at least one day ahead! This is wonderful when the flavors have had time to meld. Great with an orange or vanilla flavored cream cheese spread.
Really very good. Also VERY sweet. The middle was dense, but I do agree with the submitter that it freezes beautifully.
Great comfort food. Par baking the bottom crust helps keep it from becoming soggy. I think next time I will add some herbs and seasonings. While very good, it was a tiny bit bland.
Decent brownies. Extremely sweet even though I cut down on the sugar, there was no depth of flavor, just super sweet chocolate loaded with stuff. I was disapointed in these, they were just very average. With so many incredible brownie recipes out there these are not worth making again.
Stop looking!!!! You will NEVER find a better bran muffin than this one. I have made these often for the last few years and have never met anyone who does not absolutely love them (even people who don't care if what they eat is healthy or not)! You can change these with "healthier" ingredients, but they are incredibly healthy as they are. I am a little underweight yet eat these all the time, just as the recipe states. Excellent and totally delicious source of fiber.Thanks. THANKS. THANKS!!!!!!!
Super awesome! So so so yummy! Made them exactly as directed and they are perfect with great rise and moisture, but not dense at all. These make a wonderful snack or light desert when you feel the need for something sweet yet don't want to load up on excess sugar and chemicals and fat. My girls also love these, and my youngest rarely ever eats muffins. I use Ghiardelli bittersweet chips which are awesome. Thanks!
Very good! Super moist with a great texture, but not wet or soggy. I think it is perfect with a bit of coconut extract added to the cake and the frosting. I use a slightly different cream cheese frosting with about half as much sugar and find that the tang compliments the sweet coconut very well. Makes very pretty cupcakes.
