I added italian seasoning, paprika, onion powder in addition to coarsely ground black pepper. I also added two cups of mixed veggies and since i didn't have crackers, i substituted a Little over one cup of italian bread crumbs mixed with two tablespoons melted butter for the topping. Came out quite delicious!
very tasty! I omitted the salt since it is salty enough as is. batter stuck on pretty well, I think I will also add some hot sauce next time and try to sub some of the flour for cornmeal to add some texture.

delicious! husband loves when I make this. I lighten up the recipe by using the neufchatel cheese, half stevia-half sugar, skim milk, and lite or fat free sour cream. still comes out delicious. this recipe is so simple and perfect, love it!
decent waffle, tasted a little on the eggy side but I definitely a non issue when considering the protein in just one serving. I didn't have the same sticking issue as the previous reviewer. thanks for this recipe, it's so hard to find a high protein breakfast food that you can meal prep in advance.
like others i made some substitutions: whole wheat instead of white flour, 1/2 cup applesauce instead of oil, used 3 bananas, and used 1/2 cup granulated stevia + two tbsp of brown sugar instead of white sugar to reduce sugar content but make them taste a little sweeter. added some cinnamon, also used egg replacer and almond milk to make this dairy free, and added an extra tsp of baking powder to retain rising in absence of the eggs. Came out perfect! Great base recipe that can be altered in such great successful variations as proven by the other reviewers.
love this recipe! I am kicking myself right now for not finding this wonderful meat alternative recipe sooner. the only change I made was only using 1/2 tbsp of olive oil and using low sodium soy sauce since I didn't have any tamari sauce. these came out delicious and with a great texture.
