I have found many wonderful recipes on this site but this is not one of them. The turmeric created a "bitter" taste that resembled garlic that had been burned. I would never make this again, it was not even worthy of one star.
Delicious! Cornmeal added that little crunch and the muffin was moist and sweet. Got rave reviews at my house.
Recipe is delicious as is but I like to change it a bit depending on what I have on hand. I used 1/2 cup red wine (instead of white) and added chopped fresh mushrooms and a handful of sun dried tomatoes in place of some of the peppers. Delicious!
The absolute best scone recipe! I added orange zest to the dough. Also dried cranberries and pistachios. Made an orange glaze for top. Do not let butter come to room temp! Instead cut butter into small pieces and work in with fingers. Bringing butter to room temp and mixing in will not give the proper texture to the scone. You want it to be more like a biscuit than a muffin! Handle the dough as little and as gently as possible for best results!
