Spiced Turnips (Shalgam masala)
I love turnips. This northern India dish is great way to spice up tradional mushy turnips. This dish is great served with basmati rice, or with Naan. The amount of chilis you use really control the heat factor of this dish.
These falafels are the closest thing to NYC street vendor falafels! Made the traditional way with dried soaked chickpeas! Great on a pita with lettuce, cucumber and yoghurt. Asafoetida is usually found in middle eastern or indian food stores. If you prefer, you can use 2-3 garlic cloves and 1 small chopped onion instead. This is a great base recipe, customize it to your own tastes.
Spiced Chickpeas (Chole)
Serve nice and hot with rice or naan. This is one of my favorite indian dishes.
