Cookies 'n Cream Cake

I made this cake for several gatherings in recent months and had a huge hit on my hands--I can't serve it without people asking for the recipe! When I'm pinched for time, I substitute canned vanilla frosting, but your version is better!

Carrot Cake

I made this for my family reunion and I didn't have any left overs!! I halved the amount of sugar in the icing and only put pecans in the cake (not the icing) and it was wonderful! One of the best carrot cakes I've ever had!!!

No-Egg Tuna Macaroni Salad

This didn't really turn out as well as I had hoped it would. You really couldn't taste the ranch flavoring with the amount called for in the recipe, and you definitely did not need the milk. Also, fresh vegetables would have been much better. I won't make this again, at least not without several changes.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

This recipe was outstanding! The gravy was incredible, although I doubled the amount of flour called for. The kitchen is a disaster area, but it was well worth it! I served it with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and biscuits and my husband says it reminds him of the home cooked meals he used to get as a child growing up down south!! Hands down, the best fried chicken recipe I have ever made, as well as the best gravy ever served in this house!!!!!

Cheese Biscuits I

These were very good and even impressed my husband, who is very picky about the bread he eats. I found that I only needed to bake them for about 8-9 minutes for them to be soft, which is how we like them. I also omitted the parmesan completely and doubled the amount of cheddar. They don't reheat well, so only bake as many as you will need for your meal. I don't think they tasted like Red Lobster's, but they were very good. I'll be serving them again!

Emily's Famous Sloppy Joes

I omitted the onions and peppers because my husband doesn't care for them, and replaced the cumin with some extra chili powder. I also added a dash of cayenne and a splash of tabasco and topped each sandwich with sharp chedder which I melted under the broiler. Very good sandwiches that reheat very well--my husband took them to work for lunch for two days after we had them for dinner. We will definitely have these again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies were very good and stayed soft. The pudding gives them a unique flavor. I halved the recipe, since there are only two of us, but by the end of the night, we only had ten cookies left--will have to make the whole batch next time!! My husband is very picky about his cookies, but he loved these, and in fact, asked me to make a batch for him to take to the office!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Tastes wonderful, however, I needed to add a bit of milk to make them easier to spread. Quick, easy, and tasty!!

Apple Crumb Pie

I made this for Thanksgiving and it was incredible! The entire family loved it and it was actually the only pie that was completely gone at the end of the day! The only thing I changed was to double the amount of crumb topping, I just didn't think it was enough, it didn't cover the entire top of the pie. We warmed each slice in the microwave for 35 seconds and topped with Cool Whip--excellent!! My other apple pie recipes will be deleted from my recipe box!!! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!!

Boston Cream Pie

I wasn't very impressed with this pie. The cake didn't have much flavor to it and was difficult to cut in half--it was entirely too soft, and just fell apart. I couldn't get the lumps out of the pudding no matter how hard I tried, and once the pie was in the refrigerator, the glaze got so hard, you couldn't slice the pie without the top layer bouncing off. I made it for Thanksgiving and no one really liked it--not one person who tried it finished their piece. I won't make this again.

Chicken Caesar Pasta

Not a bad recipe. I omitted the lettuce, it just didn't appeal to me at all. The leftovers didn't reheat well. The dressing gave it a nice twist, I may try it again.

Quick Crescent Taco Pie

I have been making a variation of this dish for years, omitting the crescent roll, just using tortillas to make a crust, and I thought this would be a nice change of pace. My husband didn't appreciate this recipe at all, he thought the dough made it too soggy, however, I thought it was pretty good. I used doritos and omitted the olives and served the sour cream on the side. Since hubby didn't enjoy it, I probably won't make it again, but overall, I don't think it was a bad meal.
