just made these and they are the best brownies i have made from scratch!(and i have made alot) i did use 1/2 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp of baking powder as suggested. i personally do not like the thicker crust so i will use 1 tsp of salt next time. this is one to keep and pass down! *update* although i have made these a few times, the hubby wanted me to add a peanut butter taste to the mix. he says he liked them but they are too rich(as i have heard alot of people saying, but i did notthink so) so i used a cream cheese peanut butter mix and marbled the brownies. it kid of evened out the sweetness. 8 oz. of cream cheese, soft 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter 1 egg, room temp. and 2 tbsp. cold milk(we use 2%) -blend together well till fluffy. i have tried a few different ways but i have found spooning the cream cheese mix in rows and taking a knife and marbling with the brownie mix is the best way! enjoy! *NOTE* do NOT try to layer the cream cheese and brownie mix(a bottom layer of brownie, then cream cheese, then brownie, then cream cheese again) i have fund that this does not allow the brownie mix to bake all the way on the inside!
the recipe that isgivenis perfect. the "better half" isn't really a cookie person but loves these cookies! kids love them also! who ever made these and messed them up either forgot something or did not follow directions! they are not cake like at all! they are perfect! thank you for giving me a recipe for c.c. cookies that are better than my mother in laws! lol
the hubby LOVES this icing! he is a VERY picky eater and is not one much for sweets but he says we will have to use this icing from now on! thank you so much!
as close to kfc biscuits that i have come so far! and they are my favorite!
this will replace my fried chicken! full of flavor and jucie! thanks for the recipe!!! although i didnt use the traditional cheddar, i used an italian blend of mozzarella, provolone, romano, asiago, and parmesan cheeses and omitted the cereal and butter. i did use cooking spray on the cookie pan i baked the chicken in. next time i will use the cooking spray and top the chicken with melted butter as the recipe called for. the hubby said it was one of the best chicken he has had at home! thanks again!
i really enjoyed this dish and others said it was pretty good. we did this for easter so i was too busy to get a picture(which i try to do with every dish from this site). the only riff i had about this dish was the fact that it didnt mix as well as i wanted it to while baking. next time i think i will bake with out the topping for most of the time and stir as it bakes then add the topping at the end in just enough time for it to get crispy!!!
although mine did not turn out like the ever so popular K.K., they were still pretty good and a big hit. i may have botched it up alittle while prepping the dough... i will see ow they turn out next time!
this is a great recipe! i have made this 2 times now and have not had one complaint. i did alter it alittle though. first of all, i have cut the recipe in half. also i cut the cinnamon into 1/4 of what the recipe calls for and then i add alittle less than 1/8 of ground cloves and alittle less than 1/8 nutmeg. this really makes the bread just how my grandmother's bread was.
I loved these cookies and get requests to make them every holiday season! They are better than the ones at the store. The owner of my job makes some and they are no where close to as good as these. Problem is, it is hard to get them to try anything they didn't think of or make. They really do not know what they are missing out on.
