This recipe is wonderful! I usually don't keep any white flour in my house, only whole wheat, so I thought, "What the heck!" and I made them with all whole wheat flour! I did have to add a couple TBS extra water, but nothing much. I kneaded the door for a few minutes in my kitchenaid, and then let it rest under damp paper towel for about 30 minutes and it was very easy to roll out! I was able to get it PAPER thin with no tearing at all! I dusted them with flour to stack them, and they did not stick together at all (and they sat in a pile for about 40 minutes) Perfect! They taste wonderful and fry up nice and crisp! Thanks!
I didn't really care for this recipe. I followed the directions exactly, but the frosting was way too runny, even just spooning it onto my cupcakes was nerve-wracking as it started to run off the edge. After realizing the recipe was a dud, I added an entire additional package of cream cheese, which firmed it up a tiny bit, enough to at least get it on the cupcakes and then stick them in the fridge so it could harden. I also had to add a ton of extra vanilla to get it to taste like something other than just cream cheese. It's O.K., but I won't use this recipe again, mostly because of texture.
I did not follow this recipe to a "T" and that is the only reason it only got 4 stars. This recipe idea is SUPERB! I was extremely skeptical about apples (esp. a sweet, red one) in with my tuna and mayo and all that, but it TOTALLY works! I was even careful not to let the hubby know there was apple in there because he is a fussy eater of anything new and unusual, but he never said a word and he ate every bite! I omitted a lot of ingredients only bc I was working with on-hand stuff. I basically mixed the tuna with dill relish, dill, mayo, a tad of mustard and the chopped apple and celery but boy oh boy it was TASTY! I also served it on sliced croissants and a slice of provolone cheese. A+!
I have to say first that this is the first recipe that I have given all 5 stars to!! These rolls are FANTASTIC! I have made lots of bread and rolls before, but these were by far THE best! The only change I made was that I substituted half of the All Purpose Flour for White Wheat flour (in addition to the Whole Wheat) This was definitely the lightest wheat roll I have had. I ended up with extra dough some how, so on top of making 2 dz rolls, I made a whole loaf too, so I would have one ready, just in case. Will make this again!!
I only gave this recipe 4 stars because I did not follow it exactly, but it was FANTASTIC!! I had spice cake mix, so that is what I used, and my own recipe for cream cheese frosting for the filling. But I followed the cake mix + eggs and oil (but I used olive oil) and it made a fantastic cookie! So soft and not too sweet! The batter was really sticky, but I just oiled my hands and it rolled into balls just fine! 10 minutes in the oven was perfect for mine! Will definitely make these again!
This was SUCH an amazing idea!!! I only had 2 packages of breadstick dough, so I made my horn'a'plenty with no bottom (but you totally couldn't tell) and then I just brushed it with melted butter before sticking it in the oven. It looked FANTASTIC! I left the tail end of the horn stuffed with the foil so it wouldn't collapse, and then stuffed the front part with 2 different rolls and biscuits, and sort of let them cascade out onto a silver platter and brought it to Thanksgiving dinner. My family couldn't compliment me enough!!!! Everyone was SO impressed! And it was tasty too!!! Thanks so much for a new mainstay for my family's Thanksgiving feast!!!
This recipe is ok. The dough is sticky and I had to add much more flour to get it to a rolling consistency. Taste is god, but a little heavy on the salt, I'd do a heaping 1/4 Tsp next time. Also these were mild in flavor for my house's taste. I'd up the cinnamon and ginger to a full TSP next time. Also I cut these a little thicker than 1/4" and then they rolled and cut much better. Pretty tasty all in all.
I rated this 4 stars bc I made some changes (as I always do). This was DELICIOUS! This was my first cabbage soup. I used vegetable bouillon instead of chicken, and I added lots more black pepper, and an entire head of cabbage & 2 cans of stewed tomatoes. I also added Parsley, Oregano, Sesame Oil, toasted sesame seeds, copped baby carrots, I also added 1 red potato at the beginning (to thicken slightly) and then added another, and a yellow potato toward the end, so they would have some body. Will definitely make this again!
I made some changes to this recipe, but it turned out great! I was out of A.P. flour, so I used all Whole Wheat. I also added a handful of chip crumbs and a cup of crushed rice cereal (for texture and just because) I also added sesame seeds, sesame oil (and subbed the veg oil for Olive) parsley, and oregano. I also drizzled a little bit of beer in after the water, to get the consistency right (I added extra dry ingredients too). Also I HATE rolling out dough of any kind, so I just patted it into the cookie sheet. I had more than I needed for one cookie sheet, so I left my crackers thick. I sprinkled extra sesame oil and sesame seeds on top as well as come coarse salt. They came out VERY tasty, but were too thick and dense. I will keep this recipe as my stand by and I will follow the partial A.P. flour and THIN rolling rules, next time ^_^.
I rated 4 stars bc I made changes, but the cookie was very good! First off, I halved the recipe bc otherwise I would have had entirely too many cookies! I used homemade marmalade and added a bit extra so I could throw in a handful of oats (for texture). I opted not to frost them (gets messy with a 2 yr old). If I did frost them, I think I'd omit the sugar. My marmalade is pretty sweet on its own, and frosting would just put the cookie over the top. The yield was spot on for my small, rounded spoon full cookies. The result was a soft, pillowy cookie, more akin to a biscuit than a cake. Very addicting little things!
Only reason I am rating 4 stars is bc of all the changes I made. I used flavored instant oatmeal packets for this, so I omitted the white sugar, the cinnamon, and the salt. I also added mixed dried fruit instead of raisins and added a chopped fresh peach and a chopped fresh apple, as well as 1 mashed banana, and substituted the oil for apple sauce. I added a sprinkling of flour to make up for the fresh fruit, and used almond milk. It was very tasty! The fruit it nice and tender, and the whole thing is done perfect in 35 mins. I don't like it more or less than regular oatmeal, it's just a different way to eat it! I don't eat mine with milk or anything, just straight as it is from the pan. The fresh fruit makes it moist enough.
