Great recipe for parties or big events. I took this to a Christmas party and it was gobbled up. I did substitute Cheese Fantastico salad dressing for the Italian and it came out great.
Yummy! Normally my family gets very nervous when I try new things (I've made some bad dishes in the past). This was a hit! The meat was tender, the gravy was fabulous, and everyone was happy with the final product. I did add a can of Cream of Mushroom and I think I'll double the French Onion soup next time. Thanks for a new family favorite!
This was such a nice change to the regular baked chicen I've made for years! The flavor was perfect (although I did add seasoned salt, pepper, and extra garlic salt to the flakes). The texture was nice and after putting it in the broiler for the last 5 minutes of cooking, the chicken came out a perfect golden brown. Strangley enough, my 5 year old didn't like the batter on it, but he can be a weird eater. I do think most kids would inhale this recipe.
Yum! I just omit the milk for a creamier texture.
I just did not like the way this turned out. I think the chicken needs to be grilled and the sauce was lacking any kind of real flavor. I may play around with the idea behind the dish.
Yummy!!! I think I'll make some crepes next time to really make this decadent!! I did not use any rum and it turned out great!
A good banana bread recipe for beginners.
This is what I was craving....a Monte Cristo that tasted like the Bennigan's version. You really do have to watch your frying tempeture and time though. I used King's Hawiiaan Bread for this and they were delicious.
The first time I made this I didn't add enough liquid, so this time I used 2 cans of beef broth as per another users suggestion. I like to reserve the juices as an au jous type dip, and even my picky little 5 year old ate it. Will definetly keep in the recipe box.
I would not normally make this, but my husband loves chicken fried steak and asked me to make it. The recipe was easy to follow and the meat came out nicely. My 5 year old ate it and my husband seemed pretty pleased, although "it's still not like mom's" grrrrrr....
Although the recipe calls for sharp cheddar I used Tillamook medium cheddar the first time I made it and it turned out great. I used sharp cheddar the second time and it seemed a bit more grainy in texture. The key is to not add too much butter or else it will get oily. Also, be liberal with salt, pepper, or any spices you are going to use. This is a large, dense dish and needs a little more to flavor it. I love sprinkling in some hot sauce or Tabasco to add some kick. Overall, very good recipe.
This was quite good. I only have 3 people in my family so I used 1 lb of chicken and 1 box of Stove Top stuffing (chicken flavor). My husband who normally doesn't like anything new said it was good.
