I used the sauce from this recipe on ham instead of pork chops and it was also good for that form of the meat. As other reviewers have noted, half the cinnamon was adequate. It reminded me bit of apple butter, but definitely had the pear taste.
I made these according to the directions. They are a good recipe if you want brownies that are not quite as rich or sweet. I've made some brownie recipes that contained way too much sugar. They would also be good with some ice cream on top.
I will say this was a delicious recipe. My only downside is that the 15 min prep time is far inadequate for the time required. Unless you are buying all pre-made components of this recipe, consider an hour of prep time to get all the ingredients chopped, cooked, sauteed, etc.
Very easy and quick to make. It is helpful to have a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature. Once you remove the sugar from the heat, you only have about 60-120 seconds to get the nuts coated before it hardens.
Nice, simple recipe. If the ingredients don't want to stick together, add a tablespoon of agave nectar or honey and be sure to really smash everything together when forming the balls. I suggest using rubber or plastic gloves so that it doesn't stick to your hands. I did not have to use a food processor, but this should work equally well.
These are so simple to make and you can substitute so many different things to mix and match to your taste. Be creative! For instance, try rolling in shredded coconut to make them less sticky to eat.
