Okay folks this is the real deal. I am diabetic so I either had to eat my BBQ dry or live with very high blood sugar levels for a day. I used this sauce on chicken thighs and it was amazing. I sliced the thighs to the bone and marinated them for about 4 hours. I grilled them COVERED for 10 minutes. Turned, brushed with sauce and 10 again. Turn, sauce 10. Turn and 20 minutes to 180 degrees. Delicious.
I can sum this recipe up in a few words. The first one would be BORING. The next one would be Tasteless. Whoever thought that 2 Tbls. of Ketchup is considered seasoning is an idiot. I can't make any suggestions as to what seasonings to use, I don't think you can make this mess better, just find another recipe or buy Marie Calander's frozen version, it is very good.
Just another killer recipe from Chef John. I have to admit I cheated some. I did not have Beef Stock in my pantry nor did I have Button Mushrooms in the fridge. To the Chef's horror I substituted beef bouillon (3 cubes) and a 4 oz. can of mushroom pieces. WHO CARES? It came out great, Fantastic flavor, lots of gravy. I fully recommend following the steps on the patties carefully. They came out soft and flavorful and did not fall apart.
