Sub a peach instead of an apple! It becomes so much moister. Since the peach flavor is also stronger, you can add more healthy items like ground flax seed (which usually tastes like grass) or wheat germ without deterring from the taste! I also used cranberries instead of raisins and toasted some almonds to go on top. The crunch is worth it. I will definitely make again!

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

I followed the direction to a t, minus one change. I added 1/4 tsp of cream of tartar to create a nice "cracking" on top of the cookie. It's tasteless and worked. These cookies have a delicious chocolate flavor and I will be making them again.

Sesame Beef

Recommended changes: Use sesame oil (and reduce by 3/4 to 1 tbsp)--and fiancé still said it had too much sesame flavor. Reduce sugar by half to 2 tbsp. Steam half a bag of frozen sugar snap peas, onions, red and green peppers in the microwave. Add a few slivers of sliced fresh ginger. Add everything to meat/sauce combo and heat till warmed. Maybe next time add something a bit sweet like pineapple or mandarin oranges? The beef needed something to lighten it up.

4 avocados, 4 oz. of feta cheese and 3 plum tomatoes. added the lemon juice and cilantro

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

I used 1/2 c vegetable oil & flour and it took about 15 minutes to get the roux chocolate milk color. I added .75 lb chicken, 4-5 links of spinach feta chicken sausage I needed to use, and followed the recipe as written but added a can of diced tomatoes and several shakes of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire. Also 5-6 small bell peppers and a jalapeño from my garden. Waiting to see how it turns out now!

No potatoes, chicken broth instead of water (2 c) , 1 can cream of chicken the other cream of celery. used 1 onion, 13 baby carrots, and 5 sticks of celery, added 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, pepper, and onion powder, twinge of salt, and a rotisserie chicken. Used "herbed dumplings" recipe.

Cut spices in half. Make sure butter is room temp first to properly mix.
