I must say that I wondered how such a simple recipe could get so many raves. I tried it very skeptically and it is simply addictive. I added 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, but otherwise followed the recipe. The sauce got a bit thick and clumpy, so I didn't cook it very long because it seemed to get thicker and thicker the longer I cooked it. I was a bit worried about it, but it turned out wonderful!! It will now be my favorite apple pie recipe.
I have been looking for a good wheat bread recipe for a long time and most wheat bread recipes do not rise well. This one rises very nicely and the cornmeal gives it a nutty, crunchy texture. You hardly taste the herbs and so the next time I would put at least twice the amount or more. I might add basil, oregano and garlic. I would also put a little more salt in the next time. I would definately recommend anyone to try it!!!!
These are totally AWESOME!!!! Even better the next day. I made 2 batches of the sauce for 1 batch of rolls and was so glad I did. I will triple the sauce the next time for 1 batch of rolls. I only got 8 rolls out of one recipe, so maybe I made them too big?? I did put 1 fresh onion into my hamburger as I fried it and did not use minced onion.
WOW! This is sooo wonderful!! I love zucchini and am always looking for good recipes and this has blown me away! I did use yellow squash instead of zucchini, though.
What a refreshing new twist on egg salad!! It's wonderful and I am sure it will get even better when refrigerated a few hours. I did use Miracle whip instead of Mayo and cut back to about 1/2 cup. I was out of fresh limes, so I used True Lime powder and it works great. I also used 2 T. fresh onion instead of mushrooms. I used only half of the cilantro. More would be too much!
Very Good! I used a few sprigs of fresh cilantro and a few sprinkles of dried basil. I like to save and add 1-2 T. of juice from the beans and cut back on the oil a bit. I added less garlic because I was afraid it would be overpowering by the next day.
This definately needs to soak in the refrigerator overnight. It gets sooo much better. Next time I would use Miracle Whip instead of Mayo. I used 1# of bacon, and dried cranberries instead of raisins. Also used dried totellini (cooked) and didn't care for the cheese filling, so next time I will buy a better brand and see if that helps. This recipe is good, but not the one I would choose to really, really impress special guests. UPDATE: I finally perfected it and LOVE it. I will leave my 4 star rating although I think, as written, it should be rated maybe 2 stars. The dressing MUST be doubled and since it is too sweet, do not double the sugar!! I always use Miracle Whip now and golden raisins, and lots more bacon. I use only 1-2 heads of broccoli and in my opinion, it must be blanched. The textures go together so much better. This time I also used frozen tortellini which is better than the dried I used previously. It still is a thousand times better after being refrigerated overnight. I will make this often now that I have it to our liking.
Awesome!!!!! It's nearly addictive. I made it just like the recipe and I wouldn't change a thing. I think it's better after refrigerating a few hours as the flavors penetrate the beans and veggies. I also stirred the avocados in last to avoid smashing them.
This is absolutely divine!!!! Perfect combination! I would recommend to use Yukon Gold or red potatoes for sure and boil them in water with 1/2 tsp salt. They will have more flavor throughout (do not add more salt to the salad then b4 tasting). I threw some mock tender steak in the crockpot b4 going back to work after lunch and they were done when I got back and they cool quickly when diced and refrigerated. The diced potatoes take only a few minutes to cook and they cool quickly when rinsed with cold water. Add red onions for more color. You might add another 1/2 Tablespoon of vinegar and another 1/2teaspoon of horseradish if you want to make it pop a bit more. It is great to serve immediately, but better when refrigerated for at least an hour b4 serving like the recipe recommends. This one is a keeper for sure!! Top rated in my book!!!! Very easy, plus it's a one dish meal!!
If you like oatmeal that's not quite as creamy as this, use whole oats and 1/2 cup more water. It perfect!!! After 10 hours on low, it still has some nuttiness! Try it!
Yummy and moist! I absolutely hate dry hamburgers, but these are quite moist and very tasty. I added a dash of worcestershire sauce and soy sauce and topped them with chipotle jack cheese and served them on grilled wheat bread. Will definately make again!!!! The next time I might try adding a bit of chopped jalapeno pepper.
Wonderful! I used Red Cream Concord wine which is very sweet so I did not need to add any sugar. I rinsed my cabbage w/ boiling water and simmered it on low and had no trouble with burning. It tastes so sweet and fruity. Definately a KEEPER!!
