I found this recipe to be very good but, it was a little crumbly and I had a hard time rolling it out.I live in a fairly dry climate so next time I'll try more water, spoon by spoon. All in all, it was the best pie crust I have made. Thanks for sharing.
I, like one of the other reviewers, looked at different food websites and wasted a lot of time!I finally looked at your site, which I should have done in the first place and found what I was looking for within minutes. This is a great recipe for puff pastry Cream Horns.I did add more confectioners'sugar(Ihave a really big sweet tooth). Thank you Cathy.
THIS WAS A BIG HIT THANKSGIVING DAY WITH 30 HUNGRY PEOPLE.IT WAS SO EASY TO WHIP UP.MAYBE THE NEXT BATCH I'LL REMOVE A SMALL AMOUNT AND ADD A LITTLE FRESH GARLIC AND A SPLASH OF HOT SAUCE JUST TO SEE IF THAT WOULD ADD SOMETHING TO IT..(I JUST CAN'T LEAVE A RECIPE ALONE!!)DON'T GET ME WRONG, IT IS A GREAT RECIPE AS IS! THINK I'LL DOUBLE THE BATCH FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR MY GAL PALS.I'LL USE THE PADDLE ATTACHMENT ON MY MIXER TO MIX THE BIG BATCH. THANKS A BUNCH.
Just had to sample it before taking it to my daughter's for tonights dinner. They will be impressed! Next time I'll use the recipe on a pork shoulder roast for sandwiches. Chili powder might be good in the sauce for a BBQ flavor, you think? Thanks Merri
I cooked it in slow cooker until desired doneness of cabbage. I also used spiced apple cider and some water. Adjust sugar and vinegar to taste. I served it with a pot roast and my family thought it was the best ever and wanted the recipe. Anniebgood
This is the best!A little hint,I put the dry ingredients in a plastic sip-lock type bag and mix it all together.
WHO SAID "YOU CAN'T TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS". I'M EIGHTY YEARS OLD AND I PICKED UP A FEW HINTS FROM REVIEWS, USING MY FOOD PROCESSOR TO MIX THE DOUGH AND USING A ICE CREAM SCOOP TO DROP THE BICUITS. I DID CUT THE RECIPE IN HALF BECAUSE I LIVE ALONE.ONLY PROBLEM WAS HALVING THE EGG! THIS IS MY GO TO RECIPE FOR BISCUITS FROM NOW ON. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A GREAT RECIPE.
Did you know you can hard boil eggs in the oven? Place your eggs in a muffin tin,no water, bake in a preheated oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes, no more or no less than 30 minutes. When done cool in cold water right away.....so easy
I have made this frosting for many years. My dear mother in-law taught me how. I cook it on the stove top in a heavy pot and when it comes to a rapid boil, I dip a spoon ,hold the spoon out in the air, checking the threads , keep boiling and checking , doing this until nice threads start running down from the spoon( when it's ready it will look like the threads are trying to curl back up)Have a large bowl ready with your beaten egg whites, then slowing add the syrup and beat ( l use a hand mixer)until frosting is consistent with the way you want it. Remember, practice you will get the hang of it! Anniebgood
Good but needs more spice, maybe some Allspice, maybe a little Nutmeg.
