I was nervous to experiment with a new dish for our party... especially because there had only been 2 reviews... but it was SO good!! Everyone loved them! The pear had such a delicate flavor you could hardly tell it was there, I used d'anjou pears, I don't know if another kind would taste different. Don't skimp on the cheese... I cooked up 4 sweet onions (3 inches in diameter), and had about a cup left over. Three onions would have done just fine.
SO good!! I tested the recipe first by making it for 4 servings... and I ate it all in one sitting!! I substituted Agave syrup for the sugar, and it still turned out great.
I am picky about my lasagnas... but this was AWESOME! I was a little skeptical of the cream cheese, but it was absolutely perfect!! My husband doesn't like leftovers, but he can't wait to take this in his lunch to work tomorrow! I'll definitely make this again!
Unfortunately this was not a good match for our family... my husband could not eat more than one bite, he said it tasted like a hot dog... I think the liquid smoke really was too much, and could have been eliminated.
