This really is a very good recipe. The thing that keeps it from being a great recipe is just needs "something". I've tried it twice since my first attempt with much better results. The first time I tried adding a bit of sugar for a sweeter version that was very good. The second time I tried adding cheddar cheese and diced jalapeno peppers which was excellent.
If anyone ever asks for a good ice cream recipe, this is the one to give. This is absolutely fabulous. Since we don't eat uncooked egges, I tried heating the milk and sugar then incorporating it into the eggs and cooking the custard before mixing in the other ingredients with excellent results. It was a little bit extra work but well worth it. It's no wonder everyone raves about this recipe..it's simply the best.
This truly is absolutely fabulous. I made this for Father's day and everyone loved it - even my dad who generally doesn't like salad. I did make one change however. When I first made it, it seemed much too tart so I added a little sugar - not enough to make it sweet but just enough to cut down on the tartness. That made it perfect. I'm sure this will be come a standard in our house.
This was great! I was online looking for quick and tasty recipes and this certainly fit the bill. I didn't have Swiss cheese so I used Monterey Jack instead and the results were excellent. I know may people won't like bacon bits. The easy solution is to use real bacon pieces which can be found in resealable bags next to bacon bits in the market. I had the entire recipe mixed in under 10 minutes.
This rice is absolutely fabulous. I eat rice everyday and was looking for something different. I'm amazed at just how good this simple recipe is. I used sesame oil and Jasmine rice. I also drizzled lime juice over the rice after it was finished. I think the cilantro and lime juice are essential. The only thing I will do differently next time is try it with two eggs instead of one. One egg doesn't seem too noticeable in the final dish and I think two will make it more like authentic fried rice.
This is really good although I think maybe just a little too much on the sour side. I found a little less vinegar fixes that. Also, buying a whole can of pineapple juice concentrate is a bit of a waste considering the amount required in the recipe. I found that any pineapple juice I happen to have on hand works fine. This is definitely a good recipe to keep on hand.
This is just awesome and is perfect for a party.
For some reason, I thought all the glowing comments for this recipe must be exaggerations. That was before I tried it myself. They are not exaggerations. This is truly excellent.
I gave this 5 stars because I know this an excellent recipe.
