Celantiis

I love baking bread and singing Italian opera and good curry. I'm a self-taught cook who believes in natural, organic, made-from-scratch foods. I have yet to discover an eggplant parmesan that is as divine as the one they make at Whole Foods in Petaluma, California.

This really is stellar banana bread. And nothing fancy either, just a quick list of everyday items that make something seriously delicious. I didn't have buttermilk so I used milk and vinegar. I let it sit for 10 minutes and it worked perfectly. I also used half the sugar and added nutmeg, allspice, ginger, oats, and poppyseeds. I will make this bread again and again!

These were stupendous! Very pumpkiny, and very moist. We devoured them with butter and maple syrup. Changes I made: I added a few pinches of nutmeg, used water instead of milk, and used whole wheat pastry flour. I made them once with canned pumpkin and they were definitely not as good. Make your own puree! I've also used yams and butternut squash instead of pumpkin and it works wonderfully.

This is a scrumptious pie! The topping was especially lovely...I added some almond extract which really gave it something special. I didn't have graham crackers so I made a crust in my food processor with brown sugar, melted butter, flour, salt, vanilla extract, almonds, and candied ginger. The pie was a little runny when I cut it but DANG it was good!
