have made this for years for Red Velvet cak frosting. When you cook the flour and milk just make sure you cook it until very thick, stirring constantly. Then let it cool with wrap over the top so no "skin" forms. Cream the butter and sugar well. Perfect!! and I never have to referigerate but I do use heaping tablespoons of the flour.
lzj----eliminate the ancho chili powder to reduce that HEAT and only use the flesh of the jalapeno (not the seeds and ribs)
Tomato soup is just OK and I would prefer to not eat it-- but THIS tomato soup I would sneak away alone and eat all of it myself! BTW, husband loved it too as I did share and am now giving your recipe to those in our community garden as we wait for the tomatoes to get ripe. Hope to be able to freeze plenty this year. It is imperative to add the lemon juice to raise the acidity and you must can at proper time and temperatures to maintain safety. Things can always seal but does not mean they are safe. Please read safe canning guidelines before anymore attempts to can to keep you and those you are feeding your product to safe!
