Born in Illinois, raised in California. I started cooking at the ripe old age of 12. Took boys cooking in school. Worked at an upperclass seafood restaurant at 13 <~lied about my age. When the cook walked out one nite, I had been watching him for weeks..so I took over. I owned a steak house in Buffalo Gap Texas, met my wife there...something like 27 years ago
