Added a dash or two of cloves and 1 Tbsp cinnamon. I didn't have cayenne, so I did 3 dashes of red chili powder. I realize now that I didn't use Dutch-processed cocoa. I did use high quality unsweetened baking cocoa, but Dutch-processed would make it better. It's not very chocolatey.
Great. Don't overcook the potatoes, or it will be difficult to separate them from the water. Mine were a bit wet, so I baked the finished casserole in the oven without a lid, to dry then out a bit. I used a stand mixer to thoroughly mix the sour cream, cream cheese, and 1/2 cup butter. Then I manually mashed and stirred in the potatoes. Don't mix the potatoes with the mixer, as that produces too much gluten and will make the potatoes sticky/stretchy. I did not add milk, having used butter instead. I was in a rush and timed myself, starting from nonwashed whole potatoes to ready to serve dish, did take a full 1hr 20 min. I did not peel my red potatoes.
I used 1/4C sugar. Don't forget to sift the cornstarch in, otherwise it will get clumpy and look weird.
Tastes amazing! Carefully drizzled it on bundt cake. No changes, it was perfect as directed. It was rather tedious to smoosh out the juice and separate the seeds. That takes quite some time. I wonder if there is a faster merhod?
I've made these previously, as written, and really liked them. I use half as much salt. Today I had no milk, so used 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and 1 cup water, instead. Super great. Makes 9 waffles in my rectangular machine, enough for 2-3 people. I usually try to just cook 8, overfilling my machine. See the funny photo.
Good! Made with baby carrot bag. No dill
Excellent! Completely devoured at an Aug 1st Swiss party, and this group knows its potato salad! I suggest adding green onions as garnish at end. I mixed some in, and their color got lost
Not crispy, more cake like, but good. I omitted the chocolate chips inside, and rather melted the chocolate and decorated the tops of the cookies/bars. I used the Wilton 12 cavity ice cream sandwich pan to make the nice pattern.
I made this previously and it was great. Just like my mom's recipe. Don't over-stir, to avoid making it glutainous.
I used an entire 16oz bag of mini marshmallows, 4 Tbsp butter, and 15 red and 15 green chopped up hard peppermint candies. (Did not add vanilla.) I buttered the pans first, sprinkled some red and green chopped candies in patterns in the pans. Made the treats, adding the rest of the red and green candies separately, then squishing the treat into the decorative bundt pans. Very tasty and pretty!
It made 4 dozen cookies, using the William Sonoma thumbprint cookie stamps, heart, circle, and rectangle. I rolled the dough thick, at 5/16ths, or 8 mm, and cut the shapes right after mixing the dough. Then refrigerated the shapes, baking them the next morning on parchment. I baked at 400, rotating 180 degrees after 4min, cooking for another 4 min. Cooled on the sheet 1 min. After fully cooked, I filled the indentation with melted seedless raspberry jam.
