I come from a family full of people that love to cook, and, oddly enough, just as many of the men in the family cook as do the women. So, I took on the interest young in life watching my mother cook and then later on in life picking up on some of the eccentricities of the cooking that comes from the men in my family. I originally started out by diligently following recipes only to eventually discover that they could be used as references that were open to interpretations or, as I like to refer to them, embellishments. Frequently I will find a recipe that peeks my interest but very rarely do I follow it without some kind of "Jeffro" embellishment.Lately, my new interest seems to be smoking meats. I recently invested a large some of money (to me) on a brand new Oklahoma Joe reverse flow smoker that I am absolutely LOVING!I am, in my humble opinion, still a novice/ amateur. But, based on reviews apparently, I'm pretty damn good! I'll take it!
