Really liked this recipe. When you're having a sweet tooth craving, this will definately hit the spot! My only complaint was that they spread out very thin when they baked. However, they still stayed chewey which is a good thing!
We loved this recipe! Both of my parents came over to try it and gave it great reviews. My hubby is cleaning his plate at this moment and said it was great. I am not really a fan of rhubarb and even I thought it tasted great. I added some extra break as I think I was using "cheap" white bread and it just didn't look like enough. I added an extra 4 slices and kept all the ingredient amounts the same and it came out perfect! Thanks for the great recipe!
Made this the other night for myself and the hubby. I served it over white rice and with grilled corn on the cobb. I cut the ketchup amount in half after reading other reviews and it was still extremely saucy/soupy, HOWEVER, the taste was great! It didn't have an overwhelming sweet or sour taste, I thought it was just right. Maybe next time I'll just add another lb of sausage to the mix to take away some of that "soupiness"
Came out SO yummy! I used the fruit that I had on hand. 1lb rhubarb, 1lb strawberries (they were really big so I quartered them) and one package of blackberries (these we're also big so I halved them). I also made the latice crust and I think that is definitely the way to go. When it came out of the oven it didn't appear too runny but I didn't need it until the day after so I refrigerated it anyways. So perfect the next day, all gave thumbs up including me!
I used this crust recipe for anothe pie. Pie tasted delish, crust did stick to the bottom of the pie plate but that could be my error in greasing the plate I suppose. Had no complaints on the pie or the crust so it's a thumbs up from us!
Just pulled this out of the oven and after cooling a short bit, sliced into our first piece. YUMMY! I stuck with the reviews and used 1/2c apple sauce and 1/2c butter. I only had 2 ripe bananas on hand so that's what I used. The flavor and texture is great, but I could see adding more bananas the next time around to give it more of a banana taste. Because I only had 2 bananas I added some extra milk to keep it moist. The consistency was perfect. The bread does come out looking dark, but it didn't affect the taste at all. Definitly a great recipe!
All my husband keeps saying right now as he cuts his steak is, "This is the best steak I've EVER had!". It's definitely a pleasure in our home. We both love garlic so it's perfect. I was lazy last night and put all the ingredients in a blender and then poured it out over the steaks to refrigerate overnight. So good tonight on the grill!
Didn't hit the spot for either myself or my husband and I'm a huge brussel sprout lover. I'll keep looking for something different rather than just tossing them in butter, but I don't think this will be it for us, we weren't crazy about the flavor. Thanks anyways!
The flavor of this recipe was wonderful, my family really liked it. However, my cookies came out so flat and super duper thin. I followed the recipe to a "T" so I'm not sure what went wrong. I'd love to make them again if I could ensure that they would be thicker/fuller.
So very good! I layered instead of stirred. Had my in-laws over for dinner, this literally took me 10 minutes to throw together and then it just baked itself. They all raved about it. I believe I added extra parsley and some oregano over the cheese layer. I agree, presentation is definitely lacking but the taste more than makes up for it! Very easy dish that pleases, will surely make again!
Very good! My husband lost track of time and ended up over-cooking them on the grill, the outside was crusty but the inside was still as juicy as can be! I gave it 4 stars only because I plan on making again and adding a few more spices to kick the flavor up, but all and all, we really liked the recipe and the consistency (the only thing I subbed was half&half for the evaporated milk because I didn't have any one hand.
Big hit with my camping group. Only problem was that I doubled the recipe for the larger group and it wouldn't all fit in my crock pot, and I use a decent sized one! I had to leave some of the layers out, but really, how can you go wrong with pasta and cheese. Even with some missing layers, it was all eaten up and everyone was happy. Will surely make again!
