Potato Cake

I actually didn't have any leftover mashed potatoes so I just whipped up a batch, seasoned and chilled them. This recipe was really good but you must be patient and let them cook, let the outside get a nice crunch to it. The potatoes I made were delicious (lots of garlic), but the end taste was nowhere near as flavorful, and then I realized I didn't account for the addition of extra ingredients...derp! Overall very good, very filling as well. Should be fun to try different cheeses and seasonings.

Scottish Oat Scones

I thought these were really great. Came out perfect at 12 minutes. Only differences in the recipe was a little extra sugar/with cinnamon, about 1/2C milk (dried cranberries instead of currants) and they weren't really crumbly at all, and with a little butter on top I would say an excellent healthier version of a scone. Also I used quick oats and there were no texture problems at all. Will absolutely make these again. Thanks for a great recipe.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough

Have made this several times. Great and quick pizza crust recipe, added garlic powder and a bit of oregano for flavor. I always (as others suggested) bake for 10mins then add the sauce and cheese and bake for an additional 10. Next time I will see how well the crust handles being stuffed with cheese. Make sure that you keep your fingers floured while pressing this out otherwise you will just end up with sticky fingers and a awkward shaped crust.

Mulligatawny Soup

Getting ready to try this recipe (after Simpsons is over) and figured I would start with the few changes I will be making. I am out of carrots so will be adding peas towards the end, no biggie. As other reviewers suggested I will definitely add more curry powder. The more the better. Will use brown rice instead of the white because, well because I love brown rice. Since I don't generally have heavy cream on hand I will omit it. Final change will be using turkey instead of chicken (thanksgiving leftovers). Update: So the soup is done...seemed to turn out perfect and smells wonderful. The slight sweetness from the apples really paired well with the flavor of the curry and the chicken (or for me turkey). Delicious!

Very good. Was not nearly as sweet as a lot of people said. Make sure you pay attention to apples used. The sweeter the apple the less sugar you are going to need. Will definitely make again.

This was much better than I expected it to be, and so simple using the frozen ravioli. I did a layer of spinach ravioli, then mini cheese in the middle layer, then another of spinach. Used sausage instead of beef. Was out of mozz at the time and the last of my cottage cheese had gone bad (I always add that to my lasagna)so I just used extra parm throughout. Will have to make this for my brother-in-law to try (he's Italian) and see what he thinks, frozen ravioli-sauce from a jar, oh no!
