Growing up in a large family, and being accustomed to making large quantities of food, has created the challenge of cooking for one or sometimes two. It is only some times two because my husband is pescatarian which I get tired of on occasion :)

This is one winner of a recipe!!! After a really hectic day and a quick search, I sure am glad I tried this one. My only changes were I omitted the salt & black pepper as well as the hot sauce (which I didn't have on hand) and added garlic-pepper and a dash of chili pepper Put it all in the slow cooker and YUM!!! My pork roast was 2.68 lbs and it was actually done in about 4 hrs on low....but I let it go 6 hrs. It was so juicy and tender. It actually fell apart trying to get it out of the crock. :)

I wish there was an ability to give 10 stars! Chef John, I followed your directions... (except I was all out of Kosher salt so I only used sea salt, dang it)...and I got rave reviews. Due to having big eaters and more people than normal, I made an 11.13 pound rib roast and the directions worked for that big of an item. I couldn't believe it. Thank you so much. I have deleted the other prime/rib roast from my recipe box and now only have yours. Words cannot express my gratitude.

What can I say, this was easy and fabulous. I was timid to use fresh thyme and leeks because I had never done either before. But it was easy and the video was great. For me, actions (video) are better than words (reading) :)

Slow Cooker Cheesy Potatoes

I think this recipe is wonderful, and I think you, Renee. After reading the reviews, I took it upon myself to see about adding more 'something'. I do a lot of cooking not measuring anything...and just going for it. With that being said, I added a scoop of sour cream (looked like maybe 2/3 cup). I also added cut-up squares of a variety of cheese that I wanted to use before going bad. Then I saw that on the shelf, I had a small bag of real bacon bits...and I used all of that. And then, hoping it would be too much liquid, I added a can of cream of chicken soup. NOTE: I did use everything in Renee's recipe. I just added to it. Our company said it was REAL good. I asked my hubby what he thought, and he said he won't change anything. Even my real picky son ate it (I was really surprised and happy :) )So, I guess it was definitely a hit. Thanks again, Renee.

It was good. My hubby and mom-in-law thought it was so good they went for seconds. Due to a constant lack of time, I did use the helpful ideas for your reviewer (Cindy Carnes). I had to double the recipe because I had slightly over a pound of ground meat which had to be used. Auntylene, I thank you. I had never heard of this type of soup before. Simple, quick and good :)

Absolutely magnificant! I made it as directed, but didn't have mini loaf pans. I used 2 regular sized loaf pans. I also used organic cane sugar which measures the same (from Aldi). Due to different pans, I had to bake a bit longer...say maybe 20 minutes--and during that 20 min., I turned oven down to 325. Both loves turned out so moist and light and DELISH!!! Thank you for posting this one!
