Easiest Teriyaki Marinade Ever

I used this recipe to marinade button-sized mushrooms for six hours before grilling them. They were wonderful - very juicy and flavorful! The cinnamon in this recipe was a little strange, but I don't think I will leave it out next time. I will, however, try adding fresh ginger, as some of you have suggested.

Absolutely lovely! Yum! Next time I will add even more spinach and mushrooms, though.

Chinese Cold Pasta Salad

I was so happy when I found this recipe! I studied in China for a summer and my absolute favorite dish was very similar to this one. If you want it to be like the one that I ate in Beijing, you should leave out the bell pepper and cilantro and add finely chopped little strips of cucumber. Also, they would throw in very small crouton-sized chunks of soft sourdough-tasting bread. It was always very spicy with LOTS of red pepper flakes and there was always LOTS of sauce - more than this recipe calls for - so that the bread would be soaked. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, Julie!!! I am *so* happy to finally be able to eat my favorite Chinese dish again! =D

Chicken Enchiladas with Cream of Chicken Soup

My boyfriend likes this recipe better when I use a southwestern cheese soup (rather than the chicken soup), or something of that sort. He also likes me to add enchilada sauce. I don't eat meat, so I put black beans in mine and use a veggie-friendly southwestern cheese soup. I personally like the recipe w/o the enchilada sauce. We give this a five, but only after alterations.

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

Yum! I think it could use more onion, though. Also, I did cook my rice and lentils seperately. My boyfriend, who is not a vegetarian (I am), didn't care for this dish nearly as much as I did.

My boyfriend, who does *not* like asparagus, loves this dish. I like asparagus all by itself, but I definitely enjoy this recipe, too.

I generally *love* sweet things...but this pie was way too sweet and way too rich. My boyfriend agreed and said that it reminded him of fudge.

Simple, but very good. =) Makes nice little cupcakes, too, if you would like.

Wow!!! *SO* yummy! I made some with milk chocolate chips, some with craisins, and some with both craisins and white chocolate chips. We enjoyed them all.

Wasabi Mashed Potatoes

I am usually totally up for trying something new, but this one didn't really do it for me. It was okay, but nothing all too special (and I really like wasabi). I felt like something was missing.
