Wow what I really enjoyed the compliments I received from making this recipe. When my boyfriends 11 year old son asked if I could make chocolate chip cookies for him. I told that I have never attempted making chocolate chip cookies before but I will try. I searched for a recipe and found this one. I followed some of the suggestions and added a lit more oats. I didn't eat any cause at the time I was following a weight loss program. The next day when I came back home from work. My boyfriends son greeted me and told me that he finished all the cookies but left two for me (he didn't know that I was on a diet). When I asked him how he enjoyed the cookes he simply answered beautiful. At his response I decided to forget about the diet and try the cookies. Didn't regret it one bit.
Growing up I hated homemade pancakes. The ones I had always tasted oily and rubbery. As an adult the only pancakes I ever ate were the boxed types. When my boyfriends son asked me to make pancakes because he wasn't pleased with the boxed choc-chip pancakes I had made for him I decided to search for a recipe. I found this one and I'm never going to buy boxed pancakes again. I followed the recipe but used just 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon vanilla. I didn't get full thumbs up from my boyfriends son since he felt they were not sweet enough but when I tasted them i thought they were just wonderful with a little maple syrup. If you are not going to use syrup I suggest you add more sugar. Also if you want really fluffy pancakes make them the night before and store in the fridege. Don't stir the mixture after that just scoop into pan. GREAT RECIPE!!!!
I have never made brownies before so I was looking forward to making them but by the time I arrived home I was tired but decided to go ahead and make them. I forgot to put eggs and only realised it after I had put the first layer in the oven. I almost threw out the mixture but decided to keep it. The brownies still tasted sooo good. I will try these again and see how they turn out. I am from South Africa and don't know what toffee bits/chips are. Is there a substitute that I could use?
WOW! I know that something is good when the kids go back for third helpings. We couldn't stop eating these. I am from South Africa and our biscuits (cookies) are always crunchy so I haven't really been a big fan of the chewy kind. But these are addictive. Crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The only problem I had was that the recipe asked to have the mixture dropped onto the pan. I couldn't do that cause my dough was too stiff so I formed the dough into balls and flattened then before placing them on the baking tray. Maybe I did something wrong but nontheless they turned out just great. Thanks.
I am from South Africa so I don't know what Krispy Kreams are but doughnuts are quite popular down here. Everyone who ate them said they were better than the ones bought at our local shops. I made them twice in one weekend. The first time I followed the recipe exactly adding just a lit more flour. the second time I add melted chocolate and a little milk to the original glaze recipe and they tasted just great. I have just one problem with the glaze becoming very soft after a while. The glaze sets well but after a few hours of standing it becomes soft and moist. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The only reason I won't be making these anytime soon is because I wouldn't want them to settle on my hips. GREATE RECIPE!!!!!
I am giving this one 4 stars because despite everything I thought it tasted good. I don't like anything goey and I found after making this pie that there was a lot of "jelly" at the bottom of the pie. Next time I will use less syrup and maybe more nuts cause I like mine very nutty. Also I found that the pie almost scorched before setting so I switched the oven off and let it stand for a while. I read another review and next time I will cover it will foil. Otherwise it is a good tasting pie.
This cake is incredible. I have tried for a very long time to find a recipe like this one. It is moist and full of flavour. The first time I baked this cake I followed the recipe exactly and the cake turned out wonderful. The second time I used milk instead of the liquer and topped it with a chocolate ganache glaze since I love a rich chocolate cake. This cake has made the Allrecipe website my favourite one.
I absolutely love this recipe. The muffins are moist and full of flavour. The only thing though is that the crumb topping was only good on the day the muffins were baked. The next day it turned sugary which I didn't find too pleasant. Next time I plan to make these in advance I will omit the topping.
