This dish was amazingly easy to prepare and well liked. I used Swiss cheese instead.
The taste is very good, but the appearance was slightly laking. It sank in the middle. This recipe works well with any flavor cake mix. I like to you it as the base for my Luau Cake. Delicious!!!!
This tastes great and everyone liked it. (Never happened before)I made it for thanksgiving last year and am making it again this year. The only problem was it turned out a little flat. Very dense. I only had poultry seasoning so I used 1 1/4 tsp. instead of the rubbed sage and pepper. I also used dried parsley flakes instead of fresh, otherwise, followed the recipe as is. Keeps much better than those recipes with apples or other fresh fruit; they don't "make-ahead" well. Definitely a keeper.
I don't make homemade frostings very often but this one was easy and delicious. I added chopped, toasted pecans to match my cake. (I used it on a Sweet Potato cake.) Very sweet, next time I'll use less powdered sugar. This recipe makes a lot, no need to double for 3 layer cakes.
I did these steaks completely in the microwave and while the steaks tasted great the broth/gravy didn't really turn into a sauce. The cornstarch separated from the liquid. This tasted great but I'd use packaged gravy mix next time. Note: If making more than six steaks there's no need to double the gravy too.
I love this recipe. Cooking carrots in apple juice. How cool! I add spices to my carrots: ginger, cinnamon and a little nutmeg. Wonderful.
I followed the advice of several of the previous reviewers and changed a few things: 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1/4 tsp cloves; used half white and half brown sugar; used pecans instead of walnuts (it's what I had)and I used 2 cups, chopped; sprinkled brown sugar/cinnamon blend on bottom of greased pan and on top of batter in the pan. The loaves come out quite easily and have a nice, sweet crunchy topping. I did have to cook the bread about 15 minutes longer but still very worth it. The best banana bread I have ever made. Everyone asks me to make this again and again. Thank you Teri Lynn for posting this recipe and thanks to the reviewers for adding the finishing touches!!!!!
I had never had (or made) Banana Blueberry Bread before this recipe, so I was a little unsure of what to expect. I was, therefore, pleasantly surprised with the results. This bread turned out moist and delicious. I read the other reviews before making it and decided to use applesauce instead of shortening and it turned out great. I'll be making this again. BTW, I used partially defrosted frozen blueberries. The liquid from the berries mixed into the rest of the batter and spread the blueberry flavor throughout. Great overall recipe!!!
I make this just as the recipe says except for a few minor changes. I add canned sliced mushrooms and decrease the amount of pepper. We don't like very spicy food. It always turns out great. Oh BTW, I serve it over pasta not rice. Very filling. Serve with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and it's perfect!!!
This dish received mixed results from the family. Some thought it was too sweet and didn't like the oats in the crust. Others thought it was OK. It didn't hold together well. When we cut into it and dished it out, it didn't look like "pie". More like a cobbler recipe. I did use thawed undrained frozen blueberries and next time I would drain them, but we still didn't like the crust.
This was soooo easy to make. I diced the carrots, omitted the celery (didn't have any, added some bottled minced garlic, 2 (14.5 oz each) cans chicken broth, used 1 cup extra hash brown potatoes (I used the cubed not the shredded), used a little extra processed cheese (which I cubed) and added a little Worcestershire sauce (has suggested by previous reviewers). It turned out great; although I will probably use less garlic next time (I used about 3 tsp.). Still a great base recipe, super fast and easy. Thanks for posting.
So easy and delicious. You put it in the oven and forget it. I omitted the onions (picky eaters). And it was still very flavorful. I also didn't brown the meat. After cutting up all that stuff I just wanted to put it in the oven :) It came out beautifully in 2 hours exactly. Make sure you cut the vegetables the right size for them to cook. The tapioca worked great no need to use cornstarch too. You could use bouillon cubes instead but you would have to boil the water, so that means extra prep time. I doubled the vegetables (as we are more veggie lovers than meat lovers) and the sauce/seasoning mix except for the salt and pepper. Again, it turned out great. Thanks for posting!!!!
