I just microwaved the broccoli in a steamer for a few minutes, omitted the eggs to cut down on cooking time and used what I had in fridge for cheese-mont. jack, velveeta, and longhorn cheddar. I left everything else the same and it turned out wonderful in about 15 min. My family loved it!! Will cook again!
I will use this simple and delicious recipe for ALL the kids' holiday parties! Very impressed!
Absolutely delicious! I used 1/4 cup red wine, 1/4 cup soy sauce & 1/4 cup water, then added onions & water chestnuts...I, too, seared steak, then broiled in oven. Very juicy! My kids were eating the leftover sauce out of the pan after dinner! Thank you!
Delish! Will definitely make over & over!! For lack of ingred., the changes I made were bread crumbs, beef seasoning, 1 can mush, 1/2 c. fresh mush, 1/3 cup water, and added a little bit of "Wyler's Shakers" beef bouillon with the reg. bouillon cubes. Looking for a recipe to use that "free" case of beef patties you get from places like K.C. Steak Co. when you order steaks? I tried to dip patties in egg first, then into dry ingred. and DID not work!(kept falling apart). But then I just mushed the patties in w/ all the ingred. like the recipe calls for & Wa-Lah!. Made an awesome flavor! I too added flour before mush. Do not let the color fool you...I was expecting a dark brown & questioned adding even more bouillon shakers until I tasted it. It was a light tan but had a flavor to die for! Thank You!
Just what I was looking for...that is, after Del Monte decided to stop printing this basic recipe on their cans. Honestly, I wondered when they would:) Anyway this recipe may not be the EXACT measurements, but tasted EXACTLY as it always has when I followed the can for all those years. Call me a creaure-of-habit!
I make these atleast 2 times/month! This is our absolute favorite dessert...any time of year! Only difference for me is that I use 4 cups powdered sugar for the frosting (when I first received this recipe, it called for that) so I never knew any different and don't see reason to change! Wonderful!
Very thick & dry, so this time I added 3/4 cup water after the flour mixture. I let this simmer with some beef bouillon granules & little Worcestershire. Added a can of mushrooms and still a bit more liquid (3/4 to 1 cup 1% milk)as we like it creamy. Omitted the sour cream and it was heavenly! 4 stars for a good basic start!
Alot like a recipe I have used for years. I like to use Robusto! Zesty Italian or if some are being weight-conscientious, Zesty FREE Italian is awesome also! Canned, diced tomatoes work good in a pinch, but will make salad soggy by next day (usually gone the 1st day anyway:) Love to add black olives(sliced or chopped) and shredded cheddar (Kraft FREE again if u want) to the cukes. I omit onion. Color is nice with this combo. of veggies and rainbow rotini noodles. Be sure to shake really good in the bowl with a lid before serving and may need to add more dressing. SOOO good!!
To save time, I just cooked this and served from the stovetop & it was awesome! So creamy, but of course, I added more cheese, as we love lots! I can't wait to make it in the oven with topping mext time!
Not only do I use this w/ leftover potatoes, even when I boil them from raw, I HAVE to use this recipe!! Sorry Mom, I am throwing out your 'ol recipe! This can't be beat!!
Skipped the parmesan. Loved the cream of mushroom soup idea and added Classico brand Alfredo sauce and a little milk b/c that's what was on hand. I just wanted to "soup' up a store bought sauce I had and this did the trick! Now I will make it like this every time! Also added spices to chicken as it cooked for extra flavor.
I found it easier to pick up paper cups in my hand & pull melted choc. onto the sides with a spoon this way. It looked like too much choc., but I figured it had to be somewhat thick to hold the PB in. Once the cups were filled, I'd used 1/2 bag of chips,as called for & was perfectly divided. Put in freezer for 20 min. Filled w/ creamy PB. I was unsure here b/c the PB mix was thick & seemed to be "heaping" out of the cup when I used all of it. How was I going to cover it w/ choc & make them appear flat like the real thing? But it turned out fine as the PB melted a little on its own & smoothed out nicely as it set at room temp. Then I stuck in fridge to keep cool while I melted rest of chips. I evenly divided melted choc. among all 12 cups.(about 1 tsp. each)Do not try to keep muffin pan clean while you drag choc. to edges! It's too time consuming trying to do that:) It makes no difference in the end. I put in freezer, then fridge & finally to counter. But I think if they sit in fridge for a little while to set up,that is all that's needed. They can be eaten almost immed. Tasted wonderful-kids said too much PB, I thought if anything, too much choc on bottom. But overall, definitely hit the spot! Fix these up in a short box, line with tissue paper, foil, etc. & fill with a half dozen or so cups. They look just like the real thing. They taste rich, but so are the real ones. Mmmm! Thanks for something original, yet creative to make with the kids. Will make again!!
