Absolutely the MOST delicious hot German Potato Salad we've ever eaten. I increased the recipe by 10 for an Oktoberfest/housewarming party. Had to do most of the assembly in a large foil pan and pour the dressing over top prior to baking. It still turned out delicious.

I made the filling as noted, but used crescent rolls for the pastry. Sped up the process and they were delicious. Big hit at my party. I had leftover meat mixture and served it over noodles - very good the second day, too.

I substituted red pepper for the pimentos. Very delicious. Assemble several hours ahead of serving so the flavors can meld.

Couldn't find "sweet german choco" so I just used all semi-sweet chips. Turned out GREAT. Very creamy and a huge hit. I split the recipe while pouring and made 1/2 w/o nuts.

Delicious. Make it with Granny Smith apples so they hold their shape.

I doubled it for a crowd. Great with a vanilla ice cream topper.

Very disappointing. Dough was not cooked through, even with added bake time. Filling was uninspired.

The idea is nice, but we found the dressing to be a bit overwhelming for the salad...and way too much of it. If I make it again, I'll use about 1/2 the dressing.
