I'm a Certified Veterinary Technician at a mixed animal clinic. I also rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. I worked at a humane society for several years and was a foster mom for sick/orphaned kittens and cats. I spent 7 years as a vegetarian and recently began incorporating meat into my diet again. With such a stressful job and hectic life, I have found cooking to be a release. I really enjoy growing my own vegetables and herbs (fruit is hard to grow here in Minnesota!) and visiting the local farmer's market. My great-grandparents are from Norway and France so I think I tend to incorporate a lot of Scandinavian and French techniques into my cooking.
