These are great! I doubled the recipe and only got 12 large muffins though. The house smells fantastic and the cinnamon sugar topping makes these muffins! I also didn't have enough butter so I used margarine and they still came out perfect! **New Note - I made these with mashed banana and used 1/2 oil-1/2 applesause to cut down the fat a little, and they still came out perfect!!!!!
I made this for a dinner party last night and it was a hit! Very easy and really, really good. I ran out of basil, but added extra garlic and it was still perfect. I used angel hair pasta and made homemade meatballs, which simmered in the marinara sauce for almost an hour.
I made this for the first time (Thanksgiving Day) and I am so glad I did!! I got rave reviews! I made the day before (except for adding butter and broth). I doubled the recipe for 16 people and was supposed to add 6 stalks of celery (diced)?? After dicing 2 I was tired of cutting so stopped there and it still was perfect! You CAN NOT go wrong with this recipe. It will be the ONLY recipe I use from now on.
I took the suggestion of a previous reviewer and used a large mixing bowl. DO NOT USE PLASTIC - IT JUST BURNED A WHOLE THRU WHEN I PULLED IT OUT OF THE MICROWAVE. TOTALLY MY FAULT! TRYING AGAIN!
Tasted like the restaurants! ONLY marinade I will use for shrimp - it was so, so good! Will use in shrimp tacos next time.
I have never made spanish rice before - thought it was easier to buy a package at the store. WHAT WAS I THINKING?? I did not have onion or green pepper and only 1 can of tomatoes and it still came out great. Plus, my kids are eating it!!! Thank You!
Made for Thanksgiving and my husband liked this recipe better than the one I have been using for 18 years! Easy too. Thanks!
Easy and very good. Added a couple dashes of crushed red pepper for a little spice! Definitely a keeper!
This was awesome at Xmas time!!!
Found this recipe when looking to do something with my thawed flank steak. IT TURNED OUT AWESOME! ONE OF THE BEST DISHES I EVER MADE! Made rice in rice cooker instead of noodles. Used 1 teaspoon of ground ginger instead of fresh. Didn't have cornstarch either. Used olive oil instead of sesame. I added 1 tablespoon of Asian Chili Paste to give it extra kick. And, I added a sliced red and green pepper instead of the carrots and frozen vege blend. This was great!!!!!! I did add a little extra hoisin sause, rice vinegar, etc. like the other reviewers said.
I ALWAYS read the reviews before making a new recipe and in this case I completely forgot because I was rushed. I just checked the reviews because everyone is RIGHT - it was WAY too salty. I put some Yoshidas sauce over the shrimp to tone down the salt - but otherwise it's a good recipe and I will make again.
This was easy and awesome! Made as stated (for 12) and my husband and I finished it - it was 2 (cereal sized) bowls for me and 3 for my husband. I did use 1 can of the diced tomatoes with chilis for a little extra kick and did not add shrimp cuz we had it the night before. This recipe would be great rice too.
