This is a wonderful recipe. The only thing I did different was to add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, a dash of hot sauce, and an extra 1/4 teaspoon of worcestershire to the gravy. I served it over mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious! A true comfort food!!
Watch the video!!! It's really so simple!
Simply amazing!
I’ll be honest. Nobody in my family was crazy about this. I had two complaints: the soup was very brothy. There just wasn’t enough “chunk” to it for my taste. If I ever make it again, I would double the beans, double the corn, and maybe add some other vegetables as well. Secondly, there is no way this makes 12 servings. It makes six servings...at the most. Interesting concept. Interesting flavor. The final product, however, was a little disappointing.
Excellent meatballs....definitely a keeper! My only suggestion would be to slightly reduce the salt to 1 1/2 teaspoons. Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Positively yummy!!
I made this just as the recipe stated, and it was yummy! Perfect comfort food!
Recipe was easy to prepare, but the end result tasted like a buttery biscuit, not home-baked bread. Granted, it was a very good tasting "biscuit", but it was overall a disappointment.
Absolutely delicious!
I would not make these again. The cooking time was off. I had to bake at 300° for 3 1/2 hours. I also felt the seasoning was way too strong and I did not care for the flavor. The meat was tender though.
Absolutely amazing! I followed the recipe exactly, except I didn’t have bourbon so I substituted dark rum. I will make this recipe again and again. Thank you, Chef John!!
