I made these the other night, they were good but I found they were a little blah....they were missing something. I followed the recipe with no changes even though I did read all the reviews. Just didn't jump out a me no wows!

Chicken Pot Pie

I made this once before and made it exactly as written and it was good but last night I made it again with a few changes, I chopped the carrots,celery, and onions up fine, plus added finely chopped potatoes and sauté them in a pot in 2 Tbsp butter and 1 Tbsp olive oil for about 5-7 minutes. I then added chicken broth and peas and cooked till tender. Then I drained it into a bowl with a strainer and set aside, leaving veggies in the strainer. In the same pot I made the sauce following directions but omitting the onions and subbing 1/2 tsp of Thyme for the celery seed. I used left over chicken which I added with the veggies into the sauce. Poured the mixture into the pie shell. Then baked following directions. This was so good. Next time I make this I will make it as a stew adding a little more broth and add dumplings or biscuits. I am giving this 5 stars for the first time I made it because it is good, not for the changes, the changes were my preference so either way it deserves 5 stars.

Love this recipe, I made one little addition to the sauce I added 2 Tablespoons of lemon juice, great combination, citrus and honey??

Made this recipe today, I cut the sugar back by a quarter and I never measure my zest, what ever come off the whole fruit. From some of the reviews saying it was dry I just added 1/2 cup of yogurt just in case. It turned out fantastic, definitely a keeper. Thanks Carol!
