Definitely easy, but a little too dense and rich for my taste. Like condensed frosting. My husband loved it though and preferred it to other "fluffier" types of fudge.
What a delicious cake! I wasn't sure whether to shred carrots coarsely or finely, so I did a bit of both and it turned out lovely. I was tempted not to add pineapple, raisins, or nuts (I'm not a huge fan of any of these) but I'm glad I did, it really added to the texture and flavor. I omitted 1/2 cup of sugar because the sweetness of the frosting (I used the Cream Cheese Frosting II recipe from this site) more than made up for it. I think it would have been too sweet otherwise. This cake is definitely best served CHILLED. Thanks, Nan for an incredible recipe! I'll never use another one.
THESE COOKIES ARE LIFE-CHANGING. The best I've ever tasted in 25 years of baking. They have the right balance of flavor and texture. HERE'S A FEW TIPS TO GUARANTEE PERFECTION: 1. Replace 1 to 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour with oatmeal flour (oatmeal that's been processed until powder). 2. Take cookies out of the oven before they appear fully cooked, and let them stay on the cookie sheet for at least ten minutes. Cookies allowed to cool on the cookie sheet are much chewier. 3. I find dissolving the baking soda in water is unneccesary, they come out perfect regardless though I still added the spoon of hot water. 4. Use salted butter in this recipe in addition to the salt called for. 5. This dough freezes well. I double it, roll half into one-inch balls then freeze so I can have ready made cookie dough balls to bake another time.
This salad is incredibly delicious. I prefer a creamier salad, so I doubled the amount of mayonnaise and yogurt. I used sunflower seeds instead of the nuts because it was all I had at hand, and it was gorgeous! Be careful not to over do the onions, though.
Great recipe! Make sure the strawberries are thoroughly dry by patting with paper towels, otherwise the chocolate receeds from the strawberries. Also, DO NOT be tempted to add more shortenening,or that's all you'll taste. Be patient and keep stirring the chocolate till the desired texture is acheived. Also, semi-sweet chocolate can be used.
Excellent recipe. After slicing the eggplant, I laid them out on paper towels and salted the slices to draw out excess water. Helps eliminate some of the "slimyness" that eggplant is notorious for!
Fool-proof and tasty. I cut down the onions by half and chopped them finely to make the recipe more kid friendly, and then squirted a layer of ketchup between the burger and cheese layer which gave it a very nice flavor. I'm giving it five stars not because it's exceptional, but because it's tastes good and is VERY easy to make.
Delicious! To make them a little "healthier" (if you can call it that) I replace one cup of flour with 1/2 c. oat bran and 1/2 c. flax meal. Still tasty!
