This is a good recipe. I added one teaspoon cumin and it gave the chili an added flavor dimension. This an easy quick meal I serve with corn muffins.
This is one of my favorite recipes for carrots. I got my children and grandchildren to love them. To make a change in the flavor pallet I add a 1/2 tsp cinammon, 1/2+ tsp vanilla, and a dash of nutmeg. It becomes mock glazed yams and goes great with chicken and dressing and savory green beans.
These is a good recipe. I use a tube of breakfast sausage and I crumble as I brown in your skillet. I cut back on the green pepper as i seem to think it tends to become overpowering (probably good as is, I am just not fond of cooked green peppers; I use yellow or red ones). Kudos to the cook.
I do this all of the time. It is a great recipe and my family loves it. To change up I salt the cavity with seasoning salt lightly and put in a quartered onion, a couple cloves of garlic with the lemon. Roast at 450 with the legs in first. Other times I season some olive oil with fresh garlic, thyme, Lawry's seasoning salt and a little of basil for an hour. Then just before cooking rub the dry chicken with the oil ol over the chicken; put in the stove legs in first. Delicious!
This is a good basic quick recipe for red beans and rice. I prefer fresh garlic (2-3 toes finely chopped), one large onion chopped, and then following the recipe from there. Remember, do not salt your beans until after they almost fully cooked, otherwise they will not soften as nice as you might like. The hock is for seasoning. I have used smoked pork chops, ham shanks or omitted the pork and used a low sodium chicken stock and added a little more smoked sausage near the end of the cooking time. Happy eating!
