I would perfer ALOT more sauce! And maybe more heat added. Otherwise it was very delicious. My parents said it was excellent (especially since they didnt have to cook). The cinnamon in the sauce made it very aromatic and added an interesting twist.
The longer it set, the better it got. I added onion and between a half to a whole tablespoon of black pepper and the aftertaste had a great spicy bite! A touch of lemon juice was nice too!
Was too sweet so i added extra ice and some juice. Balanced out great.
I've made this on the holidays for family dinners. Since I dont care much for anise flavor i substituted by using cinnamon extract, it turned out AMAZING!
Absolutely divine! Moist, pillowy cake resting atop a decadent creamy lemon custard sauce beneath. I did up the butter to about 5 Tbsp, used the zest of the entire lemon (about 1 heaping Tbsp), and accidentally only used 1 cup sugar. Came out a perfect sweet level. Thought I had measured three 1/2 cups. Cleaning up I realized I had used my 1/3 cup. Also, forgot the salt, but I used salted butter. Will definitely make again. Can't wait to try it chilled for a sweet breakfast.
