Banana Peanut Butter Cheesecake aka "The Elvis"
This is a combinations of some of my favorite cheesecake recipes. I took this into work and it lasted 30 minutes. The professional baker I work with called this cake 'restaurant quality.' I highly recommend a chocolate ganache to finish it off before serving (8 ounces semisweet chocolate combined with 1/2 cup hot whipping cream) spread over the top! Garnish the side of the cake with toasted coconut if desired.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake
As the name suggests, this is a peanut butter cheesecake with your favorite flavor of jelly on top.
This chocolate baklava is a version of the traditional Greek dessert. It's a cinch to make but looks like you've slaved for hours. It's very impressive and tastes delicious.
Easy Banana Cake
Very moist and easy banana cake recipe; great as a snack! Use bananas that are starting to turn black.
Mom's Pie Crust
The very first thing I learned how to cook! This freezes beautifully; no well-equipped home is without a ball of pie dough in the freezer! Guaranteed to roll!
Chef John's Caramel Apple Pie
Caramel sauce is poured over the apples and the lattice crust in this pie.
Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread
This is everyone's holiday favorite, even the busy cooks, because it is so easy to make.
Chef John's Chocolate Lava Cake
Legend has it that this dessert was the result of a major catering disaster. The dessert for this particular event was to be individual chocolate cakes, but someone took them out of the ovens too soon and the centers were not cooked enough and still liquefied. Well, there was no time to take them off the plates and bake them more, so the chef simply had his wait staff introduce the dessert as Chocolate 'Lava' Cake! Brilliant!
