I didn't know it existed before last week, but it's obvious that the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) trade show seems to be where all of the world's best snacks make their debut. We've already covered a new twist on Starbursts and some sweet, salty pretzel Pop-Tarts, among many other exciting treats on display. But none of them are as interesting and unexpected as a new Snack Pack collaboration that essentially lets you eat a soda like it's a food.
That's right: the classic treat that's made its way into countless school lunches over the years will soon be available in the flavors of Fanta. As spotted by @Candyhunting (who else?), it looks like the world will someday get to taste the Pineapple, Grape, and Orange flavors of this colorful, fruity line of sodas in gelatinous form.
So far details are scant, but it sounds like this the soda-themed snack packs will debut sometime in early 2020, available in the flavors depicted and mentioned above. What's interesting is that this suggests we might not be getting any strawberry Fanta-flavored snack packs, but who knows for sure at this point.
What's interesting to note is that these are Snack Pack gelatin cups that taste like fruit soda rather than just the fruits themselves. Will eating one feel like somehow biting into a more viscous soda? Is the presence of Fanta's name little more than a marketing gimmick to make Snack Packs relevant by connecting it to a Coca-Cola brnad? Can you turn these things into jello shots? All will be revealed soon enough.
