It may still be October, but just because the leaves are still on the trees doesn't mean it's too early to start dreaming up some fun and festive baking ideas for the holidays. If product launches are any indication, it sure seems like cinnamon is poised to be the it flavor of the holidays. But that doesn't mean that there aren't going to be other options when it comes to celebrating the flavors of the season.
For one such example, look no further than Toll House's ingenious plan to combine dark chocolate and mint into a single, perfect package for holiday baking. Spotted by food Instagrammer @FoodieWithTheBeasts, this explicitly winter-themed Toll House variant has already hit store shelves just in time for you to troll everyone who expects you to be making Halloween-themed baked goods.
Apparently, this isn't the first time that this fusion of baking chips has hit store shelves. But their return is as sure a sign as any that the Christmas baking season is fast-approaching. I mean, just look at the snowman on the bag.
Some (strange) people might not love the presence of mint in cookies, brownies, and other tasty treats. But this still won't go down as the most controversial bag of Toll House baking chips, an honor that belongs to their allegedly "fake" white chocolate baking morsels that inspired a lawsuit. As long as you don't expect actual sprigs of mint in the bag, you should be good to go.
So if you've already got designs to channel the spirit of mint this holiday season, put this combo baking chip bag on your Christmas list. Santa will surely express his gratitude.
