It'll be a fantastic escape from the Midwest winters.

Chicago's Magnificent Mile will be the new home of a Starbucks Reserve Roastery this fall. The sixth and likely final Reserve Roastery is set to open November 15.

When it opens, the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago will be the largest of the coffee chain's "theatrical, experiential shrines to coffee passion" with 43,000 square feet of space. The other five locations are in New York; Tokyo, which is currently the largest Roastery; Shanghai; Milan, Italy; and the roaster's hometown, Seattle, which opened its Reserve Roastery in 2014.

Chicago is a special spot to the company. It was the first city to serve as home to a Starbucks café outside of the Pacific Northwest. That original expansion store, which opened in 1987 in Chicago's Loop, has since closed.

In addition to selling coffee and tea, the new Roastery, which sits on the corner of North Michigan Avenue and Erie Street, will also have onsite roasting, interactive tours, and a full assortment of pizzas, salads, sandwiches, breads, and desserts from the coffee brand's artisan bakery concept, Princi.

For the late-night crowd, the Roastery will also offer specialty cocktails developed by Chicago mixologists Annie Beebe-Tron of Fat Rice, Julia Momose of Oriole and Kumiko, and Rachel Miller of Community Tavern, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago takes over what was a four-story Crate and Barrel. For the new space, Starbucks says it worked with Crate and Barrel founder Gordon Segal to preserve architectural details of the glassy corner building, which was built in 1990.

Starbucks once had eyes on opening more than two dozen of these large-scale coffee experience locations. In fact, when the Chicago spot was announced in 2017, the company said they would open 20 to 30 Roastery locations globally, with another 1000 Reserve stores.

But Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson told CNN Business that the company currently has no plans for additional Reserve Roastery locations.

The store is slated to open November 15 at 9 a.m. CT. After that, it will be open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.
