A Week's Worth Of Clean-Eating Smoothies
Clean Eating...what does it really mean? I recently led a 14-day Clean-Eating Challenge at the yoga studio where I teach Vinyasa-style yoga, including 7 days of smoothies.
What Is Clean Eating?
- Using fresh ingredients in their own element (unprocessed), like bananas, fresh kale, avocado, frozen mango chunks, fresh cucumber.
- When using products, using ones that are only 1 ingredient: shredded unsweetened coconut, hemp seeds, flax meal.
- Making your own version of food or drinks that normally have a list of ingredients, such as homemade almond milk.
Smoothies are a quick and easy way to eat a clean meal. To make homemade smoothies, I use this simple formula:
1 frozen fruit + 1 fresh fruit and/or vegetable + a protein (nut butter or beans) + a superfood (hemp seeds, flax meal, chia seeds) + a liquid (water, almond milk, orange juice) = a healthy and delicious clean-eating smoothie!
Here are 7 smoothie recipes to kick off your day with a clean meal:
