These definitely aren't your traditional candy cane.

As Buddy the Elf said in the 2003 Christmas movie Elf (remarkable for many things, including the surprising sight of a blonde Zooey Deschanel), elves tend to stick to the four major food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup.

Usually, we humans would probably choose to sample only one of those food groups at any given time, but that doesn't have to be the case — at least if one truly twisted candy cane offering set to hit the shelves of your local Walmart this holiday season has anything to say about it.

Soon enough, you'll be able to sink your teeth into Juicy Drop Gummy Candy Canes, which transform the iconic holiday candy into something a bit chewier. Ditching the red and white striped peppermint template, these Juicy Drop candy canes instead opt for neon-tinted Watermelon Blast and Blue Rebel flavors.

These aren't your grandfather's candy canes, that's for sure. The key selling point here is that each of the six canes comes equipped with its very own sour dipping gel. Given that each sour gel tube is roughly half the size of the candy cane, double dipping is definitely encouraged.  So for those keeping score at home, that's like having candy canes and candy syrup at the same time.

This isn't the first time Walmart has stocked up on these Juicy Drop delights, but their return for 2020 is a welcome sight. It also looks like Juicy Drop is mixing it up compared to years past, as Watermelon Blast and Blue Rebel mark a departure from previous flavors.

To accompany the sour gummy candy canes, Walmart will also be offering a brand-new Juicy Drop Gummies Holiday Party Dipping Tray, complete with several kinds of sour gummies and a center cup filled with sour Knock Out Punch gel. It's like a charcuterie board, but for kids and sour candy fans.

As with the rest of Walmart's lineup of exclusive holiday candies, you'll find the dipping tray and candy canes starting November 1st. For now, get prepared to pucker up.
