Take a look at the photo below. Would you expect a blast of sweet when popping one in your mouth? Those look like olives, right? Well, you're in for a big shock, one you're definitely going to want to share with friends at your next potluck.

Olivia brought these beauties to an Allrecipes office party, and every single person who tried them, started smiling after raising their eyebrows in astonished delight. It was the greatest collective a-ha moment in potluck history. OK, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but still it was a pretty cool surprise to taste something you expect to be briny and it turns out to be sweet.

The Balsamic Roasted Grapes are thrillingly simple to make, requiring just a few ingredients, taking 5 minutes to prep, and 20 minutes in total to get to the table. The recipe's gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian AND vegan, so its appeal has a reach that's far and wide. (Of course, you could and probably should pair up some funky cheese to serve alongside the beautiful roasted fruit.) But the biggest WOW factor is that perfect balance of sweet and savory, with some fresh herbs adding even more character.

Tuck this one away for your holiday potlucks, or break it out tonight for a pre-dinner treat with a glass of wine. It's going to put a smile on your face, promise!
