There's a lot to take in here.

Maybe it's because we deserve it at the end of such a rough year, but it sure seems like there are a lot of interesting candies and various other treats making the rounds these days.

For those craving some cold candy, Snickers is putting out some Peanut Brownie Ice Cream Bars, which feel like they cover a whole bunch of different bases in terms of the snack/dessert canon. Consisting of caramel, peanuts, and brownie-flavored ice cream, it jam packs even more stuff inside a Snickers bar than you're already used to, and then freezes it all.

As you might expect, this particular Mars ice cream offering didn't materialize out of thin air. It's based off of the Snickers Peanut Brownie Bar, a non ice cream edition which essentially uses bits of brownie as the filling. Truly, you have to give credit to whoever had the audacity to dream up this sort of thing.

In further evidence that most of the good things in life will only come to us once 2020 is over, the release of both the standard-edition (if such a thing can be said to exist) version of the Snickers Peanut Brownie bar only started appearing in December. That means the ice cream supposedly won't see cross-country distribution until March 2021. While it sucks to wait until then, you have to admit that launching a new ice cream bar in the dead of winter probably isn't a sound business strategy.

If you really want to game the system, maybe just pick up a bunch of Snickers Peanut Brownie Bars and throw them in the freezer. It probably won't taste quite like the genuine article, but it never hurts to give your desserts a trial run.
